=============
At this time of year, Limestone flour is a product you can get through at a ferocious rate.
As I'm sure you already know, limestone flour helps absorb moisture, killing off bacteria and helping keep your herd healthy through the winter.
Here at http://www.magentadirect.ie we have fine white limestone flour in handy one tonne bulk bags available nationwide at a great price.
Did you know it's Labour-saving too? A recent university study has shown that free-stall maintenance with lime requires about 38% less labour (time) per month compared with most organic bedding materials.
At today's labour costs this will show considerable savings over the year!
First off, as I'm sure you're aware we're heading full speed into Calving season and what better time than to announce NEW LOWER PRICES in our calving range!
I know we've been neglecting this blog in favour of the http://www.MagentaDirect.ie website but don't worry, we'll pay more attention from now on :)

I know we’re all reeling from the mini-budget but there’s still good news for MagentaDirect.ie customers!
We have our ever-popular FIL Detail Paint back in stock!
FIL Detail Paint is a specially formulated paint that is quick and simple to apply to the tailhead of cows and heifers to identify animals in heat.
Quick and easy to apply 500mlbottle with applicator brush attached.
Less costly and often more reliable than other heat detection methods.
Lasts up to 4 weeks subject to correct application and conditions
Comes in four bright colours: RED, BLUE, GREEN and YELLOW…allows you to monitor the breeding status of the whole herd.
Non-irritating, weather resistant. Contains bittering agent to stop cows licking it off.
How does it work?
Apply a strip of paint 15cm long by 5cm wide forward along the spine from the tail head. Animals expressing oestrus activity or “standing heat” will have their patch rubbed due to the pressure of other animals riding/mounting them. This will even identify cows that are in heat for a short time, often missed by visual observation.

As stated back in August 2008, our testing of Done That, the dye you can add to your spot-sprayer to see where you've sprayed, has been carried out by Pat our resident expert.
He was very happy with the results. It highlighted the plants that had been sprayed in a highly visable BLUE colour, and on any concrete it hit washed off in the next downpour.
FiL has made its non-toxic, easy to clean up spray marker dye Done That even better with a new formulation.
Done That has been a part of the agricultural scene for several years, helping dairy farmers and small holders with their weed control programmes.
But now there's a new formula Done That which is not only non-poisonous, non-toxic and non-acidic but is also compatible with most herbicides.
This means Done That doesn't affect the power of the herbicide and there won't be any "gunking" or coagulation in your spray system.
Done That is a very vivid blue which is very visible and shows up well on almost all plants and weeds.
It is specifically aimed at the market for blue dyes, and is suitable for users with most forms of colour blindness.
Unlike many other marker dyes Done That cleans up easily. Just wash out your knapsack and the rest of the spray system with water and it will be clean and ready for the next time.
